Borrowed from a library some time ago, due date to return it back approaching, I picked it up to read and managed reading it in a very short period. The credit goes to the live, amusing, witty and nostalgic prose of Roy.
This is a story of family told in different timelines. A family with a history of oddities, living in strange times and a place full of absurdities. Caught up in the east-west complexities, a gift of imperialism. Religion playing its important role as always, culture trying hard to stay in competition and politics trying to prove its own worth. All narrated beautifully. Interesting how the author plays with the words. Almost unique...
Interesting thing is the due date has already passed and I still haven't returned the book.
